Chippie parent company launches network in Surinam

The newly formed Intelsur-UTS Venture in Surinam is preparing for a launch of its telecom services in the second half of 2007. Telesur is the only current operator present in the country. To open the market for competition, the Surinam government has awarded both UTS-Intelsur and Digicel with a license to act as a telecom operator. UTS-Intelsur wants to outperform Telesur by offering better quality, customer service and lower prices.
