Blyk starts with free calling plans

Blyk is a pan-European free mobile operator for young people, funded by advertising. The Finish operator Blyk will start its service medio 2007 in England, before expanding to other European countries. Blyk will be the first mobile operator that gives its subscribers the possibility to receive advertisements in exchange for free prepaid minutes and text messages. Depending on the amount of advertisements the subscriber is willing to receive, the prepaid bundle will increase or decrease. The management team of Blyk is formed by the former president of Nokia, Pekka Ala-Pietila, and Annti Orling, former CEO of Contra Group.
